Scigreat Takes Part in Huadian Laoting 300MW Floating PV Project Construction
Recently, the 300MW PV base project of Huadian Laoting in Hebei has successfully achieved full-capacity grid connection. As the largest fishery-solar hybrid project of Huadian in Hebei, our company supplies a complete set of PV mounting products for this project to support the efficient construction and commissioning of the offshore fishery-solar hybrid power station.
Located in the coastal aquaculture area of Laoting County, Tangshan, the project adopts an innovative three-dimensional development mode of "power generation on the surface and aquaculture underneath". PV modules are installed on the upper layer to generate clean energy while aquatic breeding is carried out in the water below. It realizes the intensive three-dimensional utilization of light, land and water resources, and balances the coordinated development of new energy exploitation and local fishery industry. After operation, the project is expected to generate 535 million kWh of electricity annually, save approximately 161,300 tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 422,800 tons each year, injecting green impetus into regional green and low-carbon transition and local industrial upgrading.
Offshore fishery-solar projects face harsh operating conditions. The marine environment features high humidity and severe salt spray corrosion, setting extremely high requirements on the corrosion resistance, structural stability and underwater installation adaptability of PV mounting systems. Faced with complex offshore geological conditions, our company provides customized PV mounting systems tailored for fishery-solar scenarios. Taking full account of marine environmental factors such as salt spray corrosion and wind-wave loads, the products ensure the long-term safe and reliable operation of the brackets. Meanwhile, they are compatible with offshore piling construction technology to match the high-efficiency construction schedule of the project.
The project completed investment approval in June, officially started construction in October, and achieved grid connection on December 30. Overcoming challenges including complex offshore geology and a short winter construction window, the project team shortened the construction period by 2 months compared with the plan, creating the "Hebei Speed". With scientific construction management, the project completed 2,356 piles in one single day and finished 70% of the total workload in the first month, fulfilling the goal of "commencing construction, finishing works and connecting to the grid within the same year".
Fishery-solar hybrid represents an important application direction of floating PV and delivers dual benefits from fishery production and PV power generation.
